December 6 - December 8, 2019  "Christmas in the Woods"

Bring your camera, and step back in time this holiday season at the Olde Fashioned Christmas celebration in the historic cedar log cabins of Pioneer Park.

Members of the Ferndale Heritage Society don pioneer costumes to greet visitors of all ages as they experience how our ancestors enjoyed the Christmas holidays in these log homes. Each of the 12 cabins is decorated in a special theme to welcome visitors. The event includes hands-on crafts for children, old fashioned games, music and a working general store to purchase old fashioned Christmas gifts. Costumed hosts greet you in each cabin, and the smell of home-style baking, set the mood for the Christmas season.

With its serene theme and wooden pews, the log church is the perfect spot to sit a spell and reflect. Children will enjoy writing letters to Santa at the one-room school house and then mailing them at the historic post office. The sound of sleigh bells circulates through the park as visitors take a festive horse drawn carriage ride through downtown Ferndale.

Families are encouraged to take their own photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus. At the conclusion of the tour, stop by the Tillicum House for delicious cookies and warm beverages.
